About Affirming Lens:
Affirming Lens is about weaving connection. My beautifully photographed cards, prints, and gifts weave images of nature’s nourishing goodnesses with affirmations.
My products are created to inspire, affirm, and nurture connection and to be easily giftable to those you care about, including you!
I print on sustainably source fine quality card stocks, and all cards have a surface that hold the writer's ink, limiting smudging.
Founded by Jess Chatfield in 2025, every creative expression reflects a heart‐centered, Spirit-centered mission of clarity, empowerment, and joy.
I have evolved forth from Affirming Lens Photography, a sole proprietorship. While the mission is unchanged, the vision has shifted to a wider lens - to create a platform to affirm the good in life, the Divine interconnecting all.

About Jess:
An avid nature photographer in childhood, I had set aside my artistic journey to be of service as an RN. After my successful career as a nurse was cut short with a significant health challenge, I began a quest to reconnect with my wholeness through faith, time in nature, and a practice of looking at my daily experience through a lens of curiosity....
"How do I experience the Divine, and my evolving spiritual understandings, in every day life?"
I had come to understand perspective, or the lens I looked at life through, was malleable. I began to look for God in life, and since that activity for me is omnipresent, my intention simplified: "looking for the good in life ....and finding it!"
As a photographer, I hold an award from National Arts. Over the years, I have provided photographic services for entrepreneurs and non-profits. My primary photographic joy is nature.
When I presence myself in a nature moment. looking at life expressing, I experience a sense of communion with the Divine. The photograph captured in the moment comes with a message I experience as an affirming thought; an affirming prayer.
I photograph moments that draw my attention. These can uplift and affirm ...and so I share them forth to be of service in our world in ways that can nourish other's lives.
My abiding gratitude to Shirley, Jim, Deborah, Jill, Jen, Kris, Heather Chatfield-Ammen (now in the Light), Connecticut Women's Business Development Center, and myriad others who have supported this quest from inspiration to expression.
Blessings!
